WEBINAR: Exploring Local Governance Response to Contemporary Social Tensions

The recent wave of xenophobic mobilisation has tested the capacity of local government to respond, to protect, to mediate, and to rebuild trust. This panel, hosted by CPUT and the UWC School of Government in collaboration with SAAPAM Western Cape Chapter, brings together researchers and practitioners to examine how local governance is navigating contemporary social tensions.

Dr. Rebecca Walker (Research Associate, African Centre for Migration & Society, Wits University) will join the conversation alongside Shaun Phillips (CPUT) and Dr. Lungile Penxa (UWC), with Prof. Isioma Ile and Dr. Msuthukazi Makiva moderating.
